Tummy Time

Elijah is 7 1/2 weeks old and has reached another milestone today. We even predicted it because last week his appetite suddenly increased for a few days, and then yesterday he slept a whole lot more than usual. Before he awoke, we sensed that we would be in store for something new. Sure enough, he woke up full of smiles and coos and played for an hour straight! How incredible. He literally grew overnight. Too bad the picture right above is blurry, but I was able to catch the tail-end of a smile. Any day now, we'll be capturing that smile on film with great ease... ~Nasreen

Fast Times

Elijah has been growing so fast that we literally notice changes overnight. As of last week, at 5 1/2 weeks old, he started smiling! No, it wasn't gas. : ) It was a wide, open-mouth smile (all gums!) that lit up his whole face. That first smile was truly the most beautiful sight I ever laid eyes on. One day soon, I'll catch it on film and post it.

We hope everyone is enjoying the New Year. Can't believe the holidays are all over. This past Christmas has been the most special for us...obviously because of Elijah, but also because of all the visits we got from family and friends, thanks to him. Elijah has even met all the out-of-town family...Grandma Jean, Grandpa Lou, Uncle Nisar, and Uncle Nadir (we miss all of you very much and look forward to seeing you again soon).

Oh, I can't forget to mention an extra special visit from Elijah's cousin Sabina who arrived into this world just under 4 weeks ago! They've been hanging out together quite a bit. : )
